Role: Mixing, Editing, and Mastering Engineer
Six of One wa a rescue mission in the studio. When I first got the raw audio files, they were a total mess. Out of time, out of key, and just overall muddy. I had to spend a lot of time in the editing phase just to get the tracks aligned and in tune before I could even think about the mix. Using Pro Tools and a solid chain of dynamic and time-based plugins, I was able to clean up the overlapping audio and fix the frequency masking that was making everything sound buried. It took some serious "tweaking" to get the vocals, drums, and guitars to sit right together, but the final master is a polished, balanced mix where every instrument finally has its own space.
Technical specs
Edited, mixed, and mastered in Pro Tools, focusing on corrective alignment and pitch work for the raw tracks.
Used dynamic and time-based effects (compression, reverb, and delay) to resolve muddy frequencies and track overlap.
Applied surgical EQ and level adjustments to ensure the vocals and instruments sit clearly in the stereo field.
Mastered the final track to hit industry-standard loudness while keeping the song's dynamics and energy intact.
